Fund manager Zbigniew Ryzak has paid $4.125 million for an apartment in the infamous 455 Central Park West, city records show.

Ryzak will be sharing the building with a few dozen well-heeled residents, and possibly a ghost or two. The eerie, castle-like building on Central Park West and 106th Street has long been rumored to be haunted.

Built in the late 19th century, the building served as a cancer hospital and later as a nursing home, before falling into a state of vacant decay. Chicago developer Daniel McLean bought the building in 2000, added a 25-story tower to the site, and turned the whole thing into a luxury condo.

Ryzak's new place, a two-bedroom apartment with a library and three bathrooms, is on the new tower's 23rd floor and offers spectacular views of Central Park. It was listed with Corcoran's Michael Gordon.
Ryzak, a former managing partner at BNP Paribas, is CEO of Diamond Notch Asset Management, a privately owned hedge fund sponsor.

CONGRATULATIONS to Frederick Warburg Peters, president of Warburg Realty, who was honored at the Our Town OTTY Awards on April 2.
OTTY stands for Our Town Thanks You.

The community weekly newspaper created the awards "to show the Upper East Side community's gratitude to the people who work tirelessly, selflessly and often thanklessly to improve the lives of their neighbors and the character of their neighborhood."

Peters has been the president of Warburg Realty since 1991. His dedication to the real estate industry and the Upper East Side is further expressed through his involvement on The Real Estate Board of New York's (REBNY) Board of Directors – Residential Division, as a member of REBNY's Board of Governors, and as the vice president for Residential Brokerage on REBNY's Executive Committee.

In 2010, Peters received the Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award, which recognizes meritorious service to the community by a REBNY member.
He was also a recipient of REBNY's 1996 Henry Forster Award, given for a lifetime of achievement and contribution to the industry.

Marsha Rand, managing partner of Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty, is celebrating her firm's 30th year in the real estate biz.

At the BHG Rand annual sales awards breakfast in Pearl River, she called the milestone " a testament to our hardworking agents, staff and leadership."
The ceremony paid tribute to more 18 individuals who have been with the brokerage for more than 20 years, and recognized over 150 agents for their sales achievements in 2014.

Special guests included Sherry Chris, president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC and OwnAmerica Founder and Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty Partner, Greg Rand.
